Navigation bar comes to Twitter’s Android app

  Last week, the Twitter app for Android started receiving an update with a major design tweak. How one navigates the app is changing with the addition of a new navigation bar. Considering most Android apps have this format with the bottom bar for shortcuts, it probably won’t be your first time seeing the feature, but it might take getting used to if you’re completely new to it or use Twitter a lot.

Twitter doubles its tweet limit to 280 characters for almost everyone

Back in September, Twitter began experimenting with a new character limit for tweets. One of the downsides to using Twitter according to many, is the character limit placed on tweets, which has been set at 140 for some time. Following successful experimentation by a select group of testers, Twitter is doubling its tweet character limit from 140 to 240, for almost everyone. No more combining words or phrases to fit the small threshold!

Twitter is experimenting with a new character limit for tweets. For as long as we can remember, the threshold has been at 140 characters, which for most us, just simply isn’t enough. This can be seen as one of the downsides to using Twitter for expressing thoughts or something important that happened during your day, that just can’t be told in two lines.
