Do you recall Amazon Prime Day? For those unfamiliar, it’s a “holiday” Amazon created a few years back which is when the popular online retailer hosts more deals than you can count. It happened last July and Amazon confirmed this week that it’ll be happening again this July. The deals day is less than two weeks away, and Amazon says it’ll top even last year with over one million deals.
The fourth annual Amazon Prime Day will run similar to years past. The deal frenzy will begin Monday, July 16 at 3PM ET and run though the following day. Unlike last year, this means a majority of the sale will be during daylight hours for those residing in the United States. Rather than beginning in the night, Prime Day 2018 will begin in the afternoon for those stateside and will run for 36 hours. What used to be one day is now a day and a half so that consumers have more time to view the deals and save cash. Amazon also tends to run early bird sales and keep some deals running even after Prime Day is technically over.
Expect discounts on products made not only by Amazon, but also others. While Amazon’s tech products and gadgets are expected to be offered at substantial price deductions, this won’t be a sale exclusively on electronics. If you’re a Prime member, you’ll be eligible for lots more deals with bigger savings, though non-Prime customers will also see some great deals. Some deals may even require you to search by voice through an Alexa-enabled speaker (meaning that you’ll have to own one to claim some deals). An Amazon Prime membership might also cost less for new sign-ups on Prime Day.
Amazon promotions will be on Echo speakers, TVs, streaming media sticks, Kindles, smartphones, and lots more. Amazon will also run a 10% off promotion at select Whole Foods Markets in the US where Prime members are eligible shall they install the Whole Foods Market app. Since the specials go fast, we recommend being ready to go near the start of Prime Day.
More information including tips for Prime Day can be found down at the links below or in the Amazon mobile app, which can be downloaded here. Very soon, there will be a section for Prime Day product discounts and upcoming deals. Are you ready for the shopping marathon?
