Essential PH-1 owners who are enrolled or want to enroll in the company’s Android 8.0 Oreo beta program can now install the latest beta 3 update. The build could be the last before the public version, and includes a handful of patches and bug fixes as you would expect.
Essential hasn’t listed a full change-log on its website and we don’t have a unit on hand, so we’re unsure exactly as to what’s included other than fixes and performance lifts. If you’re an Essential Phone owner who elected to risk performance to try the upcoming software, let us know if you spot anything interesting in the comments and we’ll report it.
A good number of bugs should now be fixed, meaning that the software should run smoother now than it did in the beginning of the program. Already enrolled beta customers should see the update arrive over-the-air any day now, and those who haven’t joined but want to can still enroll over at the Essential website by skipping the first two versions. Hopefully the official update is next.
