Are you a Nexus 6P owner experiencing battery issues? Android Nougat may be to blame

A string has blown up on Reddit containing several unhappy Nexus 6P owners. Each is complaining of some severe battery drain ever since they updated to the latest software version in that of Android Nougat. One user went so far to upload a video to YouTube where he explained the problems associated with his Nexus 6P handset.

The user who first posted on Reddit claims that the Android Nougat software update is to blame for the rapid battery loss. However, not everyone seems to be experiencing the high drainage. The user tried a factory reset and got not recovery from it. He claims that he’s running the official Android Nougat software build, not any of the beta previews that came before it.

In the video, the same user showed off some additional issues with his Nexus 6P unit. When he turned off the display, the only way of getting it to turn on again was by plugging in to a power source. This shouldn’t be the case for any device.

We are yet to receive any word from Google, so therefore the issue may be limited to small number of people. We hope the users being affected by this find a fix soon, if not, a replacement may be the best option for them. We’ll be sure to notify you if we hear of anything surrounding this issue in the future. Be sure to drop a comment below to let us know if your Nexus 6P is having the same sort of issues.
