BREAKING: Android N is officially named Android Nougat

Google_Android_nougat_officialAfter months of waiting, Google has officially named Android N as Android Nougat! The software release will be the name of Google’s latest iteration of its Android mobile operating system.

Android Nougat will be Android version 7.0, formerly known as Android N. Back at Google’s annually held Developer Conference in May, the company opened a webpage allowing the public to submit their favorite tasty dessert beginning with the letter ‘N.’ N comes after M, which stood for Marshmallow, which came after L, standing for Lollipop.

Since then, rumors have been circulating about possible Android N names. The favorite, in our eyes was always ‘Nutella’ following in line with the trolls and rumors. Google has already uncovered the new statue representing the latest Android version at its headquarters in Mountain View, California. Now that we know what Android N stands for, it’s time to start waiting on the official Android Nougat release, due out later this Summer or perhaps early Fall. Can’t wait? We want to hear your thoughts. Let us know if you like the name Android Nougat in the comment section! If you don’t like it, what would you have named it?
