Recently we got the news of AT&T planning its 5G release by the end of 2018. Now we have the news of Sprint planning its 5G release, which will begin in the first half of 2019. Interestingly, Sprint has listed the same cities as AT&T, of which will be the first to support 5G service. These are Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, and Washington DC.
Sprint will begin planting its 5G network with Massive MIMO in April. In 2018 and 2019, the carrier expects to deploy thousands of Massive MIMO radios, significantly increasing network capacity for millions of customers across the country.
The deployment of Massive MIMO will help in not only using 5G technology, but also in innovation and progress including cloud robotics, telemedicine, connected cars and drones, augmented and virtual reality, and more. The developers are sure that their emerging 5G technology is also going to meet customers’ demand for unlimited data and high-bandwidth applications. Now we’re just waiting on further confirmation as far as dates go for T-Mobile and Verizon.
