Details emerge on an Android-powered Motorola tablet with a “productivity mode”

According to a trusted source who supplied Android Police with exclusive information, Motorola could be prepping an Android-powered slate of 9 to 10-inches with a “productivity mode.”

Motorola hasn’t gone through with a tablet since its earlier days of producing Android devices, far before it was acquired by Lenovo. Android Police strongly believes in the validity of this report and concludes that the upcoming Moto tablet could have a “productivity mode” designed for those who manage a lot on their tablet. In the leaked screenshot pictured below, we see the three Android software keys in the bottom left along a bar for app shortcuts like Gmail and Settings. We also see a dedicated software button that may or may not be programmable, which could open the app drawer.

The page depicts a possible setting known as “productivity mode” that could allow for side-by-side apps and eased multi-tasking, a feature that could add to the one baked into Android 7.0 Nougat. Google’s latest software appears to be pre-loaded. We can tell from the hamburger icon in the upper left as well as the design of the on/off button and navigation keys.

As for hardware, Android Police speculates a premium device. There could be multiple variants of the tablet, one with Wi-Fi only and another with the addition of cellular connectivity. No name has been mentioned in the report.

The unknown tablet is likely in its earlier stages of development. Hopefully there will be more for us to dwell on in the coming weeks.
