LG just announced new shades of G6 and Q6

Last night LG announced new color options for two of its best smartphones via a press release. The LG G6, aka last year’s flagship, now comes in three additional shades. And the mid-range LG Q6 that was announced in July has added two new choices.

Perhaps the Raspberry Rose LG V30 for Valentine’s Day was a sign of more color variants to come. LG’s G6 smartphone from early last year now comes in Raspberry Rose as well, in addition to Moroccan Blue and Lavender Violet. This brings the total up to six colors, the same six as the LG V30. Though, not all the colors have been made available at every retailer, on every carrier, in every country. There are limitations. As for the LG Q6, it now comes in Moroccan Blue and Lavender Violet. Unfortunately, no Raspberry Rose. This brings the total to six from four.

The new colorways will first make way to South Korea in February. More countries will gain access soon afterward. Since the internals and exterior design (other than color) have remained the same, pricing is not expected to exceed the older selection. Though you never know, LG could throw a curve ball; we’ll have to wait for confirmation.

What could this mean for the rumored LG G7? Is LG content with launching new colors of its old phones, or will they unveil a new flagship smartphone with a new name and new everything some time after Samsung’s Galaxy S9 when the time is right? Either way, it could be a while before we get a new phone from the South Korean company. What do you think LG should do? Drop a comment below.
