LG V30 will feature first-ever POLED Full Vision display

As we were wrapping things up yesterday, LG put out a press release revealing details on their “next major smartphone.” Though the name was not mentioned, we can just about confirm that the smartphone LG talked about will be LG V30.

The LG V30 will be announced at this year’s IFA conference in Berlin and is expected to up the LG G6 is some key areas. Most interestingly, LG revealed that its next smartphone will feature a first-ever POLED Full Vision display. The screen will measure 6-inches diagonally and contain the same aspect ratio as LG G6, 18:9 or 2:1. Screen resolution will be QHD and the screen-to-body ratio will be similar to that achieved with LG G6.

LG also confirmed in its press release that the POLED screen will feature curved edges. The company mentioned that the letter ‘P’ in ‘POLED’ stands for plastic, and should increase the durability of the LG V30’s display. And to cap it all off, LG’s next smartphone will be protected by Gorilla Glass 5.

After sluggish LG G6 sales, LG will look to turn things around with LG V30. If you could pick one feature the LG G6 doesn’t have that you’d like to see on LG V30, what would it be? Let us know in the comments and as always, stay tuned for more rumors, leaks and teasers.
