MWC 2018 Event Wrap-up: Everything you need to know

MWC is an annual trade show typically held in late February or early March of every year. It’s where companies from all over the globe gather under a single roof to showcase their latest products, developments and projects. For many years now, the MWC conference, one of the big trio (CES, MWC, IFA), has been in Barcelona, Spain. This year is no different.

Every year, big announcements are made at this every event. It’s where manufacturers have a shot to connect with media and consumers to showcase what they’ve been up to.

Because there has been lots of talk, rumors, reports and leaks over recent weeks, we have somewhat of a good idea regarding what to expect. Some popular names we report on frequently here on Droid Turf have confirmed a press conference. We’re talking about Samsung, LG, Sony, Huawei, Lenovo, Nokia and more. We expect there to be quite a few mobile announcements including smartphones, though lots of cool gadgets will help fill the rounds and make time worth spent, as well. We’ll be on the show floor to absorb as much as we can to share with all of you!

MWC consists of mainly mobile technology: cell phones, smartwatches and tablets. This is some of our favorite stuff. CES, which happened earlier this year, entailed product launches of all kinds including TVs, home appliances, wearable tech, smart home gear, virtual reality stuff, and audio equipment. At IFA in the fall, we usually see a good mixture of product species as well. Most of the time, but not always, the tech unveiled during the MWC week-long show makes way to shelves in the Spring and Summer seasons. The start is closely approaching so now is a good time to round-up the latest rumblings, unless of course you like all surprises! Here’s a list of everything we’ve reported thus far.

UPDATE: MWC 2018 has now concluded. Below are all the major happenings that took place over the week.
