OnePlus has been on a roll. The company has been updating its old phones frequently and the latest OnePlus 6 has sold in record numbers, beating out the previous sales record-holder OnePlus 5T. Nobody saw this coming given the six-month release cycle, and to spice things up even more, the Chinese OEM announced a new variant of its latest smartphone model this week.
OnePlus isn’t shy when it comes to color variants. The OEM announced a slew of limited edition colors after the initial release of the OnePlus 5T in order to keep up demand, and the same might soon be said about the OnePlus 6. Next week the company will begin selling a ‘limited edition’ OnePlus 6 coated in Red exclusively at its online store. The Red option will join current options part of the lineup which include Mirror Black, Midnight Black, and Silk White.
The Red OnePlus 6 will become available in the US starting July 10 at 10AM EDT in a limited quantity. The link is already live and the phone is listed as “coming soon.” Considering how high sales of the standard models have been and the limited quantity available for the upcoming variant, be ready to buy once this goes up for sale if you’re seriously interested. If it’s a sell out which has happened in the past for other colors, there will be no telling when or if it’ll ever come back in stock.
Only the version with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage will be available in Red. Pricing has been set at $579, the same as the other OnePlus color variants, which makes sense since all aspects of the phone including specs have been kept the same. The Red model’s only difference is, well, the color. There’s a Black front with Red trim and Red rear backing. It looks pretty cool.
OnePlus will also re-stock their OnePlus Bullets Wireless earbuds on the same day. When first released, they sold out quickly so hop on those in a hurry if interested. Perhaps we’ll see more color variants of the OnePlus 6 later in the year. Let us know in the comments whether or not you’ll be among those buying either the phone or buds.
