Pre-order Sony’s Xperia XZ2 Premium on Amazon

Sony introduced several Xperia XZ2 smartphones earlier this year. All are premium and feature a new Ambient Flow metal and glass design that adopts many of today’s trends. The most premium of the bunch hands down is Sony’s Xperia XZ2 Premium, which is the most recent and up to date model. Today, the handset went up for pre-order on Amazon.

The Xperia XZ2 Premium is the newest and best smartphone Sony makes, but comes with an expensive price tag. Sony has not learned its lesson from high price tags, so it seems. Anyway, the device costs $999. You can pre-order now in the US at the Amazon retail site. Sony is yet to list the device for sale at its own online store, but the phone will cost the same once available. You’ll receive the item on or before July 30, which is the official release date.

To recap some of the specs, you’re looking at a 4K HDR display, Snapdragon 845 processor, 3,540mAh battery, 6GB of RAM, 64GB of storage (with microSD), and dual rear-facing cameras. The phone is unlocked to work on most US carriers. This is a great phone, but for $999, you might want to consider some lower priced alternatives such as the Xperia XZ2 or Xperia XZ2 Compact which are similar. You could also buy a phone with only slightly lesser specs and save hundreds of dollars with something like OnePlus 6 or Moto Z3 Play.

Those who pre-order do get a little something extra for that $1,000 price tag, which is a mark some OEMs hit in 2018 with their flagship tiers. Buyers will get an Xperia Ear Duo True Wireless headset for free ($280 value). This makes the offer more compelling, especially if you are in need of a pair of headphones to use with the phone. Shipping is free and a warranty is included. The phone comes in choice of Chrome Black and Chrome Silver (not available yet) color options.
