Mobile World Congress (MWC) takes place each year beginning in late February. In the past, this event has housed Samsung’s Galaxy S flagship smartphone launch. However, this year, it has been rumored that Samsung would skip the event and launch its smartphone at a later date to ensure all units are approved through a new list of safety measures. Remember, Samsung hasn’t launched a flagship smartphone since the Galaxy Note 7, which we all know what happened too.
Samsung is urging purchasers of the Galaxy Note 7 in Korea to stick with them by offering a monster deal. If you bought a Galaxy Note 7 in Korea and returned the device like you should have, you’ll be able to purchase the upcoming Galaxy S8 at half price. Samsung has even agreed to provide Galaxy Note 7 buyers with a temporary device such as the Galaxy S7 Edge until next year when its new flagship smartphone releases.
