The unconfirmed Samsung wearable we’ve been hearing about over the last few weeks has been mentioned in yet another report. According to latest word from SamMobile, Samsung’s very next smartwatch will be called the Galaxy Watch and there will be no Gear S4 this year. The tech blog is confident in this and goes even further to clarify what more to expect from the upcoming timepiece.
We first heard about the possibility of a Wear OS smartwatch made by Samsung a few months ago. Shortly after we passed along the report, the rumor was shut down by tipsters. However, the once rumor has come back into full circle after a trusted leaker reported that the watch is real and could launch later this year after all.
A trusted source believes Samsung could be on to something nobody would have expected. Evan Blass reported on Twitter that some Samsung employees were caught wearing Wear OS powered Gear smartwatches. This is the first time we’ve heard of the possibility of a Samsung Gear smartwatch with Google’s Wear OS platform, though we’re not convinced just yet that it’ll happen.
