A new Huawei smartphone is on the forecast, and rumors are just starting to emerge. The Chinese company will announce its Huawei P10 successor, presumably the Huawei P11, some time within the next few months. Interestingly though, the latest leak suggests that the Android flagship phone will bring not one, not two, but three rear cameras.
Android makers have been trying to outdo each other in the camera department for years, and one company who has always been present near the top in terms of mobile camera performance is Huawei.
According to Evan Blass who posted on Twitter, several promotional images taken from an artist’s personal portfolio, an upcoming Huawei P-Series model part of a new “PCE Series” will have three rear camera lenses adding to 40MP. These may include, one standard lens, one telephoto lens, and another lens made by Leica. Together, the three could be capable of “5X hybrid zooming.” There’s also expected to be a 24MP selfie camera and new software features such as a ‘Pro Selfie Camera’ mode, ‘Pro Night Mode,’ and ‘Pro AI Camera Assist’ feature.
There are plenty of phones on the market today with two rear cameras, but none that we know of with three rear cameras. The Huawei P11 could be the first.
The back of the phone might be busy, but if good camera performance results, some will likely do with the rear design. We look forward to seeing what we get.
