If you’re not fond of the Google Home Mini’s speaker quality, you’re now able to pair up a Bluetooth speaker. This update is for users who are not satisfied with their Google Home being a speaker who have a dedicated Bluetooth speaker with superior audio for listening to music.
The update is rolling out now to all Google Home units and the mobile app. Once you have it, you’ll be able to cast your favorite tunes or audio books from Google Home to a separate Bluetooth speaker using help from the Google Assistant.
If you want access to the Google Assistant functionality, your Google Home will need to be nearby. However, it’s cool to see Google give owners of dedicated Bluetooth speakers the option of pairing other speakers. The Bluetooth speakers can be placed around the home, all linked to Google Home which is where the value of having multiple speakers comes in. So yes, you can pair more than one at a time and add each to any of your Wi-Fi groups.
To get set up, access the Google Home app on your phone or tablet and dive into device settings to pair your Bluetooth device. Once paired, you’ll be good to go. We’re surprised this feature didn’t exist earlier, but are glad it’s becoming available now. It’s really cool and a step up for what Google Home can do. Perhaps we’ll get more updates like this one in May. Let us know if you see the addition down in the comment section.
