A revamped model of the Samsung Gear VR might be on the way as a new Zauba listing revealed. According to the listing, the revealed Gear VR variant bears the code SR-R323, which means it should have minor changes compared to its predecessor.

The first Gear VR was compatible with the Galaxy Note 4 and its model number was SR-R320. The SM-R321 was the innovator edition for the Galaxy S6, and the latest SM-R322 is the current consumer edition compatible with quite a few Galaxy smartphones. The revealed SR-R323 should have a USB Type-C port to match the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 7, which is expected to launch on August 2.

It’s still not clear whether the upcoming Galaxy Note 7 will feature a USB Type-C port, though the rumor mill points in that direction. All we can do therefore is speculate. However, given the minor change in the model number, and the forthcoming Galaxy Note 7 premiere, it’s highly probable that the Gear VR is for the Galaxy Note 7.
