Samsung brings more AR Emoji to its Galaxy S9 phones

Only two weeks ago, we informed you of new AR Emoji for Samsung’s latest flagship devices. Recently, the South Korean giant has introduced an additional eighteen AR Emoji available for Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+. This doubles the current total to 36 AR Emoji that users can now play around with and share with their friends.

Samsung reps might be more excited about their AR Emoji than ultimate consumers. The feature was demoed on Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+, but hasn’t received the satisfaction level of Apple’s animated emoji on iPhone X. Samsung might be aware of this and has been trying hard to give consumers a reason to try out the animated expression stickers. As promised, the company has provided more options for users to download including familiar faces your kids might know.

New choices could stir user opinion and do some convincing that the feature is worth using after all. To use AR (Augmented Reality) Emoji, all you have to do is update the camera application from the Galaxy Apps Store. You’ll see the designs in the app once an AR Emoji is formed using your facial movements. Samsung wants to provide a nostalgic-like feeling by resurrecting characters wherever and wherever you want to for free. You can get started under ‘AR Emoji mode’ and send off your exact feelings to others as emoji stickers. Samsung has made the sharing process easy with a quick copy and paste once all edits are finished off.

Right now, there are a bevy of Disney characters available thanks to a partnership with Samsung. These include The Incredibles, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, and Donald Duck. However, there are other options as well and this does not mean that only Disney characters will be part of future updates. Samsung has already confirmed that another 18 AR Emoji will come to the camera app “in the coming weeks,” and that the characters are a surprise. In the future, we might also see Samsung bring AR Emoji to more devices. Once we learn about expansion updates, we’ll report back to you.
