The OnePlus 5 can’t get here soon enough. OnePlus has confirmed a summer launch for the device, in line with previous device launches such as the OnePlus 3, for example, alongside of a “working on a smartphone” teaser and recently, a discussion of five colors and the words “what 5hould the color of your next phone be” with Black, Gold, Bluish Purple, and Red beneath it on Twitter.
The OnePlus 5 will launch this summer. We already know a lot about the handset’s spec list and design, but this week we learned a little more about what one can expect to see out of China’s OEM in a few months.
Chinese industry upstart, OnePlus, has already teased their next smartphone but the latest leak comes via the Chief Executive, Carl Pei, and his Instagram Stories. A still image shows what appears to be a OnePlus 5 with the expected dual rear camera set up. We already understand that the OnePlus 5 is due in the summer at some point, which to most people means June or perhaps even July. OnePlus’ exact wording was, “Hey summer! Give me five!”
The OnePlus 3T arrived just a few months after the OnePlus 3, leading many to wonder as to the nature of a second smartphone release in the same year.
OnePlus 5 rumors are in full swing, which is a good indication that an announcement isn’t far off. And yet, for all the rumors circling around, we have yet to hear that the OnePlus 5 is coming “from the company’s mouth.”
One image of the OnePlus 5 has leaked in recent days, showing off a dual-camera setup on the back cover of the upcoming device, but one photo is never enough for tech enthusiasts and die-hard fans.
The OnePlus 5 could launch as soon as this Summer, and we’ve already heard some of the possible internals for the upcoming flagship, including a Quad HD screen, octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC, and a 23MP back camera.
The OnePlus 3 and then, OnePlus 3T, arrived on the market in 2016, but it’s that time of year again when the Android OEM looks to release another followup to the latest iteration of its smartphone lineup.
